Mary Lucille Martin, age 85, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin following a lengthy illness. Mary was born August 9, 1926 in Joplin and had lived in Joplin most of her life. She was a homemaker. Mary attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, was an avid Bingo player, and did handcrafts. Mary married Edward L. Martin May 29, 1949 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Ronald Martin, a daughter, Barbara Martin, a granddaughter, Sasha Harrelson, and a grandson, John Martin. Survivors include two sons, George Martin (Donna), Joplin, and Frank Martin, St. Louis, Mo., one daughter, Joyce Crandall (Ed), Joplin, one brother, Bob D. Jackson, Madras, Oregon, 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Eldon Freeland officiating. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
